Italian Meatball Subs

Hearty meatballs smothered in marinara sauce and melted cheese on toasted sub rolls make for a crowd-pleasing lunch.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz Cooked Perfect Italian Meatballs (On Sale: $6.99)

  • 2 cups Prego Pasta Sauce (On Sale: 2/$6)

  • 4 sub rolls

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Step 1: Heat meatballs according to package directions. In a saucepan, warm pasta sauce over medium heat.

Step 2: Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3: Preheat broiler. Slice sub rolls in half and place cut-side up on a baking sheet. Toast lightly under broiler 1-2 minutes.

Step 4: Divide meatballs and sauce among the rolls. Top with mozzarella cheese.

Step 5: Return to broiler for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts. Sprinkle with Parmesan and serve hot.

Chef's Tip: For extra flavor, add fresh basil and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning to the sauce.

Save by using Pre-made meatballs eliminate the prep work of forming and cooking meatballs from scratch. and Serve with Italian pasta salad or chips.
