Crispy Chicken Tenders with Sweet Onion Rings

Golden breaded chicken tenders paired with caramelized sweet onion rings for a family-friendly dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Bowl & Basket Chicken Breasts, cut into strips (On Sale: $2.49 lb)

  • 1 lb Sweet Onions, sliced into rings (On Sale: $0.99 lb)

  • 2 cups bread crumbs

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup flour

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Step 1: Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch strips and season with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Set up breading station: flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, bread crumbs in third.

Step 3: Dredge chicken strips in flour, dip in egg, then coat with bread crumbs.

Step 4: Heat 1/2 inch oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken strips 4-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.

Step 5: Meanwhile, melt butter in separate pan over medium heat. Add onion rings and cook 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until caramelized.

Step 6: Serve chicken tenders with caramelized onion rings and your favorite dipping sauces.

Chef's Tip: For extra crispy tenders, let them rest on a wire rack for 5 minutes after cooking.
