Grilled Steak Caesar Salad

Juicy grilled sirloin sliced over crisp romaine with creamy Caesar dressing, shaved parmesan, and crunchy croutons. A hearty main-course salad built around this week's sale-priced sirloin steaks.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs Boneless Sirloin Steaks (On Sale: $9.99 lb)

  • 2 hearts romaine lettuce, chopped

  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing

  • 1/2 cup shaved parmesan cheese (On Sale: $4.99)

  • 1 cup croutons (On Sale: 3/$5)

  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (On Sale: $7.99)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste (On Sale: 2/$5)

Directions

Step 1: Pat the sirloin steaks dry and rub with the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Step 2: Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Step 3: Grill the steaks for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare, then transfer to a cutting board.

Step 4: Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.

Step 5: Chop the romaine and toss it in a large bowl with the Caesar dressing.

Step 6: Divide the dressed romaine among plates and top with shaved parmesan and croutons.

Step 7: Lay the sliced steak over each salad and finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon and cracked black pepper.

Chef's Tip: Let the steak rest for five minutes before slicing so it stays juicy, then slice it thinly against the grain. Grill the steak to medium-rare or medium for the most tender bite in a salad.
