Layers of chocolate sandwich cookies and sweetened whipped cream that soften overnight into something between a cake and a pudding. No oven required.
1 package Nabisco Family Size OREO cookies (On Sale: $3.99 Each with $25 purchase)
3 cups heavy whipping cream (On Sale: $5.99)
1/2 cup powdered sugar (On Sale: $2.99)
8 oz cream cheese, softened (On Sale: 2/$6)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Step 1: Beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until completely smooth.
Step 2: Whip the heavy cream to firm peaks in a separate bowl.
Step 3: Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture in three additions, keeping it light.
Step 4: Spread a thin layer of the cream across the bottom of a 9 by 13 inch dish.
Step 5: Lay down a single layer of cookies, then spread over a third of the remaining cream.
Step 6: Repeat the cookie and cream layers twice more, finishing with cream on top.
Step 7: Cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least 8 hours, until the cookies have softened through.
Step 8: Crush a handful of cookies and scatter them over the top just before serving.
Chef's Tip: The cake needs a full night in the refrigerator, because the cookies have to draw moisture from the cream to soften into cake-like layers. Whip the cream only to firm peaks, since taking it further makes it grainy and it will weep as it sits. Crush a handful of cookies for the top but add them just before serving so they stay crunchy against the soft layers.
Save by using Clipping the digital offer on the family size cookies, which is enough for the whole cake and Serve with A scoop of vanilla ice cream or a cup of strong coffee.
