Jumbo snow crab clusters steamed until sweet and served with a bowl of lemon garlic butter for dipping. A special occasion dinner that takes barely twenty minutes.
3 lb Jumbo Snow Crab Clusters, thawed (On Sale: $9.99 lb)
1 cup butter (On Sale: 2/$5)
4 cloves garlic, finely minced (On Sale: 2/$6)
1 lemon, half juiced and half cut into wedges (On Sale: $6.99)
1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Step 1: Fill a large stockpot with two inches of water and bring it to a boil.
Step 2: Set a steamer basket in the pot and pile in the crab clusters, bending them to fit if needed.
Step 3: Cover and steam for 6 to 8 minutes, until the shells are hot to the touch and fragrant.
Step 4: While the crab steams, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
Step 5: Stir in the garlic and cook gently for 2 minutes, just until it smells sweet and loses its raw edge.
Step 6: Take the butter off the heat and stir in the lemon juice, seafood seasoning, and parsley.
Step 7: Pile the clusters on a platter and serve with the warm butter and lemon wedges alongside.
Chef's Tip: Snow crab clusters come to the store already cooked, so all you are doing is heating them through. Steaming beats boiling because it will not waterlog the meat or wash away the sweetness. Set out kitchen shears and a bowl for shells before anyone sits down, and warm the butter gently so it does not separate.
