Genetics plays a major role in the development of heart disease, but so does the food you eat. After all, obesity is a contributing factor to heart disease. Try adding these heart-healthy foods into your diet: salmon, ground flaxseed, oatmeal, black/kidney beans, almonds and walnuts, red wine, tuna, tofu, brown rice, soy milk, blueberries, carrots, spinach, broccoli, sweet potatoes, red bell peppers, asparagus, dark chocolate and tea.
